Subject: ReGUStered User database and update disks?
Hi,
I've heard about the registered user database file on the Gravis
BBS, does anyone know if it's on the FTP sites too? I'd like to know if I'm
registered or if I was one of the ones who sent the registration card to the
wrong address. Does anyone know how big the database file is (I have to use
ftpmail, and it's a pain to edit and reassemble large files.) Does anyone
from Gravis know an easier way for me to find out? I sent a message to you
guys awhile ago, but that was during the email address confusion, so you may
not have gotten it. Thanks Gravis, Thanks everyone for helping make the GUS
the soundcard to beat!

I also have SF2 and I can't get the digitized sounds working either. I get Roland emulation or adlib, but no digitized.
I have a 486sx20mhz and I have no slowdowns what-so-ever. I don't think my computer is much faster than a 386dx-40 though...So I don't know what your problem
could be....

I think you can get some of the newsgroups as archive/digest. So, why
don't we just create/re-create a newsgroup for GUS, and at the end of
each day, have a program archive all the messages for that day and
send them out as digest? And all messages send to
"ultrasound@dsd.es.com" is posted to the newsgroup? This way, people
who have access to the newsgroups can unsubscribe the digest and read
and post via newsgroup. People who doesn't have access to news can
still communicate via digest (like what we are doing now)?

Which version of SF2 are you talking about?
I havn't played the official CAPCOM IBM version but was told that it
DOES NOT HAVE digital voices and is very very slow.
I have played the Korean PD version (v1.96 XMS) which is even
playable on a 386sx16 and it has LOADS of digital FX. It works
great on my machine CYRIX486slc25 with 1MBGUS and SBOS2.10. I have
to use SMARTDRV because my disk access is so slow.
